Our campground at Wildwood Cove
Resort in Grand Lake Oklahoma is nestled among 100 year-old hardwood
trees on Drowning Creek, a channel inlet of Grand Lake O' the Cherokees. With
1,300 miles of shoreline and 59,200 acres of water to explore, Grand
Lake o’ the Cherokees certainly lives up to its name. This
is a huge body of water, nestled at the foot of the Ozark
Mountains It has become one of Oklahoma’s most popular
boating resort areas.
Grand Lake o’ the Cherokees -- which locals simply call “Grand Lake” --
is known for its scenic surroundings and its excellent boating and fishing waters.
This enormous size lake in the northeast corner of Oklahoma was created by the
mile-long Pensacola Dam, completed in 1940 on the Neosho River. Much of its shoreline
is bordered by acres of graceful willow trees. There are both gravel and sandy
beaches, and beautiful green foothills along portions of Grand Lake, Oklahoma.
